Euro 2020 kicks off with colourful fireworks above Stadio Olympico

A stunning firework display lit up the sky above Rome's Stadio Olimpico on Friday during the opening ceremony that kicked off the Euro 2020 soccer tournament just before the whistle blew for the first time.

The colourful fireworks shot above the stadium as Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli sang “Nessun Dorma” inside the Olimpico.

Twenty-four teams will battle for glory in the championship.
