The Election Commission has asked Balen Shah, Hemraj Thapa, and nine other candidates of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) for clarification over alleged violations of the election code of conduct, bringing the total number of individuals questioned to 29.

According to Assistant Spokesperson Kul Bahadur Jisi, in Bajura, candidate Hemraj Thapa allegedly used abusive and threatening language against Bagmati Province Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya at the Chief Minister’s office and posted on social media regarding the Martadi–Kolti road construction project contracted to PS Baniya JV.

The Commission has sought clarification from Thapa on whether he made disrespectful, threatening, or obscene statements about the Chief Minister and whether he followed the Election Code of Conduct, 2082, while raising funds, as alleged in the complaint.
