A 30 Day Journey to KANCHANJUNGA Base Camp - Episode Two - Pangpema NORTH Base Camp

Welcome to the second episode of our 30 day journey to Kanchanjunga region. In our first episode, we explored Oktang Base Camp, passing through some treacherous trails (because the trekking season hadn't started yet).

We continue our trip from Tseram towards the North Base Camp of Kanchanjunga. It starts with a steep hike towards Selela and Mirgin La Pass, constant rain made it tougher. From Selele, we descend toward Ghunsa, meet Tshering and Family and stay at Peaceful Guest House. After a day of rest in Ghunsa, we go through beautiful forests to Khambachen, meet Nupu in his Kanchenjunga White House. Lhonak is our next stop, from there, Pangpema, the northern base camp is about 3 hours from here. Because of bad weather, we camp in the Base Camp for three days. The trek is actually doable in around 16-18 days but we spend a lot of time in Khambachen and Ghunsa. We have included our return journey because it is the normal route for trekking. People usually trek to North Base Camp and then head for South, we did the reverse.
