On every Nepali New Years Day, a special festival takes place in the Darchula and a few farwestern districts of Nepal, called Bishu Festival. We were lucky enough to be there during the new years of 2074.

This is one of the rarely seen festivals on mainstream media, full with colors and festivity. The prep starts from almost a couple early, men and women clad in traditional dresses and ornaments, singing and dancing in a circle, praying to the gods.

These cultural heritages are the true treasures of Nepal. Oh, how we love Darchula and its people!!
